Daddy's little ghoul

Happy Halloween! I was listening to NPR (national public radio) this morning and heard that despite the economy, there is no holding back on spending for Halloween. Mommy tried to be strong against the evil marketing temptation and did not buy me a costume, but instead had me in hallow gear for the last three days....am not really sure how that translates to refraining, but I am only 6 months old so what do I know. I am looking forward to another color besides black and orange next week though!
Today I am going as daddy's little ghoul....ghost hat by target - $1, boo socks by babies r us - $2, onesie and pants by old navy- $5, daddy - priceless.

Food

Last week mommy started feeding me this horrible concoction of slop. I think she said it was called rice cereal. It was vial and I had to get a little dramatic to communicate my dislike for it, but I feel it was merited.

Then yesterday to my delicious surprise she gave me sweet potatoes. Now that's what I am talking about...give me some more of that!

Daddy's birthday

Daddy told me a secret this weekend and I almost fell over in shock (well I guess I fall over a lot, but I am not being literal this time). Since I am the only one that reads my diary, I will just say it....daddy turned 39 YEARS OLD! Wow, that is ancient! Did they even have BPA free bottles and organic rice cereal? Were there such things as Baby Einstein, Sprout Pouches, and Mylicon (a few of my favorite things) back then? How did he survive!

Pumpkin patch

A couple weekends ago (I know, I am getting way behind on my posts....if mommy would just remember to download photos, I could be on top of it. Anyway....) we went to Beasley Orchards just outside of Indianapolis. It was so much fun! There was hayride that took us to a HUGE pumpkin patch with pumpkins as big as me in it. We had cream soda, well mommy went first and I got it about an hour after that, and daddy had a walking taco.....it kept walking all the way home too (and they say I am a stinker!). I learned that mosquitos love me which I am not happy about.....they had an all out attack on me...one got me right by the eye, another on the side of my head, and the queen squeeter got me on my foot which swelled up and blistered. But, the coolest part of the day was the corn maze. I was so worried that we would get lost in it and be there forever since mommy and daddy are so directionally challenged--I even suggested they go get their GPS unit out of the car, but they acted like I was talking jibberish. Thank goodness we made it through!

Birthday party

I went to my first birthday party on October 1st for my sweetie Liam. It was his 1st birthday (I love older boys! Don't tell mommy and daddy though as they might start to worry....I don't want daddy to start talking about guns again). Anyway, there were Elmo cupcakes, potato chips, and ice cream...oh my! I dressed up in my Marie Antoinette "let me eat cake" outfit and tried to get me some cake. When I was with Aunt Holly I came so close, but Liam saw me going for his special cake and foiled my plan. Rats....next time I guess.
After the cake fiasco, I thought Liam decided to make it up to me by playing me a song on his brand new baby grand piano. Although when he put out his hat for tips, I realized he was playing for the crowd, and not just me. Double rats.

Sisterhood

I want to give a shout out to my new friend Briley Lynn who arrived October 8th. Power to the sisterhood! And congrats to Kris and Stacey and mammow...they were a lot of fun at the hospital when I went to visit. Now I am not one to talk with the fringe that I have going on, but while at the hospital I actually saw a girl with a mullet! Unbelievable.

Trickery

Mommy thinks she is tricking me at DayCare by mixing breastmilk in formula so I will drink it.....but I am on to her. Ms. Judy at DayCare says I am too smart for my own good. I would just say that I have a very refined palette and only like the best. This formula stuff is for the birds.
